Launch of Secrets of Singapore: Botanic Gardens

On a bright, sunny Saturday morning (17 March), a new book was launched! Secrets of Singapore: Botanic Gardens is chock full with fun facts about the Gardens as well as plants.

Many kids and parents turned up to hear from the authors about the book, and to participate in a treasure hunt.

Popular Readers' Choice Awards 2017

Danger Dan and Gadget Girl have gotten an early Christmas present! Secrets of Singapore: National Museum clinched two prizes at the Popular Readers' Choice Awards 2017. They are:
2nd prize in the English (Children) category 
Best Cover Award the English (Children) category

Fun Facts with Stamford American International School

Authors Lesley-Anne and Monical Lim gave the bubbly students of Stamford American International School an inside look into Secrets of Singapore. From identifying credible sources to finding out what the worst job in Singapore's past might have been (hint: night soil collector), they got a glimpse into the process of researching and writing a book.

The first Danger Dan series has been translated into Turkish and the books are now being sold in Turkey! The beautiful box set comes complete with a quiz and stickers. Danger Dan couldn't be happier (and his ego couldn't be bigger).

Meet-and-Greet at Popular Bookstore!

Singapore's superhero trio of Danger Dan, Gadget Girl and Power Paws teamed up with local detective Sherlock Sam in an epic meet-and-greet at Popular, Jurong Point! Danger Dan authors Monica Lim and Lesley-Anne answered questions and autographed books on behalf of the superheroes who wanted to keep their identities secret.

Authors Lesley-Anne and Monica returned to Dulwich College to share how Danger Dan came about with the Year 4 students. They will be reading Danger Dan to learn more about Singapore's history which is totally awesome!

ASCD Runaway Readers Workshop at Kheng Cheng School

Authors Lesley-Anne and Monica met 80 very excited and creative P3s from Kheng Cheng School on 28 July 2017, who read #3 Danger Dan Meets the Peculiar Peranakan Pirate and #4 Danger Dan Traces the Perilous Poison, under the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (Singapore)'s Singapore Literature Project.



The students came up with their own inspirational ideas on Danger Dan powers and superhero gadgets! Glow-in-the-dark flying boots, anyone?
